Pendant des d\u00e9cennies, il n&rsquo;avait qu&rsquo;une seule fonction : s&rsquo;ouvrir lorsque le liquide de refroidissement atteignait une temp\u00e9rature d\u00e9finie, et se fermer lorsque celle-ci descendait en dessous. Cette logique m\u00e9canique simple a bien servi les moteurs \u00e0 combustion interne, mais elle pr\u00e9sente des limites que les moteurs modernes ne peuvent plus se permettre.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">Les thermostats \u00e0 commande MAP constituent une avanc\u00e9e majeure. Lorsque le liquide de refroidissement atteint la temp\u00e9rature d&rsquo;ouverture du thermostat, la vanne s&rsquo;ouvre pour permettre au liquide de circuler dans le radiateur. Lorsque la temp\u00e9rature baisse, elle se referme.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">Un thermostat MAP fonctionne selon le m\u00eame principe thermique, mais ajoute un deuxi\u00e8me niveau de contr\u00f4le. Un actionneur \u00e9lectrique situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur du bo\u00eetier du thermostat re\u00e7oit des commandes de l&rsquo;ECM, qui surveille en permanence la charge du moteur, la vitesse du v\u00e9hicule, la consommation de carburant et d&rsquo;autres param\u00e8tres. Sur la base de ces donn\u00e9es, l&rsquo;ECM peut ordonner au thermostat de s&rsquo;ouvrir ou de rester ferm\u00e9, ind\u00e9pendamment de la seule temp\u00e9rature du liquide de refroidissement.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"h-what-changes-in-practice\" class=\"wp-block-heading has-2-xl-font-size\"><strong>Quels changements dans la pratique ?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">La logique \u00e0 double entr\u00e9e d&rsquo;un thermostat MAP offre trois avantages mesurables :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meilleure \u00e9conomie de carburant. \u00c0 vitesse d&rsquo;autoroute, l&rsquo;ECM maintient le thermostat ferm\u00e9 plus longtemps, ce qui permet au moteur de fonctionner \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature de liquide de refroidissement plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e. Un moteur plus chaud br\u00fble le carburant plus efficacement, ce qui r\u00e9duit la consommation dans des conditions de conduite quotidiennes.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R\u00e9ponse imm\u00e9diate en termes de performances. En cas de charge accrue (d\u00e9passement, mont\u00e9e ou remorquage), l&rsquo;ECM d\u00e9tecte ce changement et ouvre imm\u00e9diatement le thermostat. La temp\u00e9rature du liquide de refroidissement baisse et les performances du moteur sont pr\u00e9serv\u00e9es avant m\u00eame que la contrainte thermique ne s&rsquo;accumule.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions.
